There are two things Americans pride themselves in; sports and academics. In the heart of Boston you can find those two things spanning with either hoards of people or for miles and pristine perfection. The two I’m talking about is Fenway Park, a legendary baseball diamond, and Harvard University, Harvard Square.
Each unique in their own right, they create a sense that Boston is in its own little world that surpasses all academics, sports and culture all wrapped into one. If you have a love for baseball, Fenway Park is the place for you. Shown in a plethora of movies, it’s seems as though it was many young kids dream to watch a game at Fenway Park or to one day actually play on the field. The baseball diamond has been in play for the past 100 years, and is deemed as “America’s Most Beloved Ballpark”. And rightfully so, it’s home to The Boston Red Sox, and is a dream of a field. One of the brilliant things about this field is that it hasn’t changed much since opening day.
After you spend the afternoon watching your favourite players hitting a homerun or two, venture off to Harvard Square where all things related to perfection and beauty are mixed into one. Stroll through the campus’ grounds and visit the plethora of museums such as Peabody Museum of archaeology or the Sackler Art Museum, or take in a whole lot of history at Memorial Church. Whether you’re looking to gain a whole textbook worth of history on Harvard, or you’re just here looking to stroll through the impeccable grounds, Harvard, is certainly what creates such brilliance in the area.
