Famous Finger Lakes Park

If you’ve never been to the state of New York natural side, well you have some traveling to do; actually we all have some traveling to do. The Watkins Glen State Park is the most famous of The Finger Lakes State Parks, and certainly has a few reasons as to why it is so.

The park is located in western New York’s, village of Watkins Glen and beams through at the southern tip of Seneca Lake. With campgrounds, picnic areas, swimming, trails, stone walkways and bridges, the main attraction of the spot is the fact that is that it’s nice and deserted spot that spans 2 miles long, is 300 feet deep and can be seen within half a day.

As you embark on your journey to The Watkins Glen State Park, you’ll be spellbound. The glen’s stream descends 400 feet past 200-foot cliffs, generating 19 majestic waterfalls along its short course. As you hike through the gorge you’ll feel the wind above you and the spray of the famous Cavern Cascade. Walk over the bridge and stand atop a lovely streaming waterfall, or stroll through the gorge to explore the hidden secrets of the park. Travel through the park and embrace the beauty of Seneca Lake or Catherine Creek where fishing for rainbow trout is a popular sport. Whatever way you look at it, the park is bursting at the seams with a winding gorge and a beautiful natural sights that will have you wanting to make this park your new favorite camping spot.
