Larger Than Life

Getting lost in a park is probably one of my favorite things to do. As you stroll through the park, and try to navigate your way out of it, there is a sense of ease knowing you are with nature, and thus you will find your way out of this overly large park.

As you wander through The Everglades National Park, you’ll soon see that everything is larger than life there, not only because of its size, but how it protects a shattered ecosystem. Located in the state of Florida, it protects the southern 20% of the Everglades and is considered the largest subtropical wilderness reserve in North America. Also deemed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you should be getting the impression that this national park is a sight to see. Many call this national spot ‘a river of grass flowing imperceptibly from the hinterland into the sea’. As a sanctuary for threatened species, birds and reptiles, embarking on this unique International Biosphere Reserve really is quite powerful.

The Everglades are famous for their guided tours and outdoor activities. Go hiking along The Nine Mile Pond Canoe Trail, canoeing through The Flamingo’s Canoe Trails, fresh water fishing, or explore the national park by boat as you navigate through the waters of The Florida Bay, and get all wilderness on those that you’re with and pitch a tenet before you get lost in the sights and sounds of The Everglades. Explore the vastness of The Everglades as you embark on a Shark Valley Guided Tram Tour, and you’ll leave this national park a little more knowledgeable than when you left your house this morning. The Everglades, they certainly are a sight to see.
